Welcome at DOKOŘÁN

Publishing house Dokořán was founded in the 2001 by Zdeněk Kárník and Marek Pečenka, then publishers with 10 years of experience in non-fiction publishing.
Our non-fiction publications cover wide range of topics: from natural sciences (mathematics, physics, nature) to history, social sciences and arts, the common denominator being exploration of the impact of new ideas in all these fields on the present shape of the Western civilization.
Up to the October 2020 we have published more than 1,000 new books, of which about one third are translations from English, Polish, Italian, French, German, Dutch, Chinese, Russian and other languages.
