Hana Stehlíková Babyrádová
Assoc. Prof. Hana Stehlíková Babyrádová
Since 1980s she has been focusing on artistic work (drawing, painting, installation, ceramic objects) and the theory of art education. From 1990s she was an assistant lecturer and since 2000 she has been teaching as an associate professor at the Departments of Art Education at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno and the Faculty of Education of Palacky University in Olomouc. She has undertaken several research stays abroad as an artist and she lectures at various European universities (Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom). The main focus of her artistic expression are gestic drawing and touch painting. She often uses natural materials during the creation of her works, such as clay, natural pigments, or coal. In past five years she has been creating ceramic objects inspired by elemental drawings that are the expression of her work being embedded in the physicality of artistic work. She has published a few publications concentrating on the research of symbols, rituals and performative aspects of arts and art education. Her theoretical reflections in the field of art education are directly connected with practical experiments which she performs with her students. Among the key topics she was concentrating in the past few year are the spontaneity in arts and education, innovative tendencies in arts and pedagogy, therapeutic aspects of artistic expression and the fate of arts and education.
